Season 28 of 8 Episodes

  • The chefs arrive in Los Angeles to compete in globally inspired cooking challenges that test their culinary abilities; their first two tests are memory and fearlessness.

  • Simplicity and interpretation; the chefs are asked to reinvent international dishes.

  • The remaining nine chefs must come up with an innovative and creative new dish that is an American favorite in 30 minutes; secret ingredients are coffee and donuts.

  • The seven remaining chefs show how well they adapt the secret ingredient to their culinary creations.

  • The six remaining competitors meet Indian chef Suvir Saran; two chefs are eliminated.

  • The four remaining chefs travel to Tokyo, Japan; the chefs are challenged to highlight the five tastes.

  • The final three chefs are tested to see if they can honor personal integrity and that of the ingredients.

  • The remaining two chefs compete in their final battle; a winner is announced.
