More about Hometown Horror

Across America there are small towns with tree-lined streets and historic homes surrounded by white picket fences that exude charm and tranquility. Travel Channel's paranormal series "Hometown Horror" explores the dark secrets lurking in the shadows of these sunny bucolic communities, many of which are haunted by centuries-old tragedies, such as bloody battles and deadly train derailments. The series delve into the origins of ghost stories spawned by long-ago murders, homegrown monsters and small-town mayhem, stories that leave lasting stains as well as lingering fears. One episode explores the legend of a deranged butcher known as the Pigman in Angola, N.Y., while another episode shares tales of undead soldiers haunting the site of Kentucky's deadliest Civil War battle. The series shares eyewitness accounts and digs into historical records to find the sources of these stories about ghosts, ghouls and the things that go bump in the night.
